ESG Methodology

Every number, traceable to a method version.

CarGlow never publishes a sustainability figure without the calculation behind it. This page documents exactly how our ESG numbers, sustainability scores, and reports are computed — so anyone can check our work.

ESG method v1.0-draft

Litres saved per completed, evidence-verified wash, by vehicle class: bike 30L, hatchback 100L, sedan 120L, SUV 150L, premium 160L. CO₂e avoided is computed at 1.1 grams per litre saved. These are the only baselines the ledger ever uses — nothing is estimated or rounded up for effect.

Every wash writes exactly one append-only ledger entry per completion. If a supervisor rejects a photo after the fact, the correction is a second, compensating entry — never a deletion — so the ledger's history always matches what actually happened.

Sustainability score method (sustainability-v1.0-draft)

An apartment community's sustainability score blends three real, measured components:

Coverage — 40%

Share of registered vehicles actually washed in the period.

Consistency — 30%

Share of days in the period with at least one completed wash.

Complaint health — 30%

Share of complaints resolved or closed in the period (an apartment with zero complaints scores full health here — it isn't penalized for having nothing to resolve).

The weights above are exactly what the score uses today. If they ever change, the method version changes with them — a score's method version always tells you which formula produced it.

Employment method (employment-v1.0-draft)

"Certified cleaners" counts cleaners at certification level 1 or above — certification is a ladder, so level 0 means onboarded but not yet certified, and is reported separately as total onboarded cleaners.

Open, aggregate-only API

The live numbers behind every counter on this site are available with no login required:

GET /public/impact

City + ward ESG rollup used by the public impact dashboard.

GET /public/portal

The fuller Water Savings Portal counter set — employment, apartment and builder participation, ward-wise stats, monthly trends.

Nothing behind these endpoints is personal data — no resident, cleaner, or vehicle identity is ever reachable through them, by construction.

What's pending

Every figure on this site is labeled "not yet independently certified." We compute honestly from real, evidence-verified jobs today, and intend to seek third-party certification of the methodology before any of these numbers are used in official government publication.
